Funeral Costs

Whilst funerals can be as simple or as elaborate as the requirements of a family there is also an ever increasing request for direct funerals. Whether burial or cremation is the chosen option, many committals now take place with a minimum of ornate celebration, no ceremony and very often, by choice, unattended by anyone other than ourselves. For further information and respective costs please use the links above.

Coffin Choices - view our brochure

Choices with regards to coffins can vary greatly, from traditional, classic wood veneered or solid wood designs through to the most unique and personally designed alternative ideas. These can include environmentally sourced coffins made of Willow, Bamboo or Water Hyacinth, coffins which are coloured, themed or even hand painted. We hold a comprehensive outline of the options available and the considerations to be given around this choice.

Traditionally styled coffins can be furnished in a choice of brass, silver, bronze or the more classic solid oak furnishings for burial or cremation. All coffins must bear a plaque of identification but using our modern machinery we are able to personalise the wording or design of the plaque to incorporate perhaps a specific family phrase or appropriate emblem.

Cremated Remains - view our brochure

Following a cremation service, there are numerous options available with regards to the cremated remains of loved ones. As well as presenting the many traditional options open to families we now also present a wide variety of alternative ideas available such as the presentation of the remains as decorative keepsakes or items of jewellery for family members or even their conversion to glass. There are an every expanding spectrum of options available in this regard, please do not be afraid to ask.

Vehicle Variations - view our brochure

Aside from the traditional modern motorised fleet of vehicles which we possess we are also able to advise on the availability and organisation of the other variations available, from Motorcycle hearses, classic and vintage vehicles, horse drawn carriages or coloured modern fleets.

Requests such as these can be accommodated into funeral arrangements
but usually require consideration of their availability prior to establishing
the date and time of the service.

Announcements, Acknowledgements and Obituaries

It is customary, although not compulsory, to place an announcement in the columns of national or local newspapers to inform colleagues, acquaintances and the general public that the death has occurred. This will, in many cases, reduce the incidence of embarrassing encounters with people who are not aware of the event.

You may also wish to publish an obituary notice or acknowledgement following the funeral service. We are happy to deal with these arrangements on your behalf by drafting the announcements with you and arranging for their publication.

Charitable Donations

It is not unusual for bereaved families to request that donations be made to favourite charities or medical research in place of floral tributes. Such donations can be received at the place of the service or if preferred we can receive donations direct to our office on your behalf, we will gather the donations after the service. The donations may be collected from our office to allow you to forward them to the chosen charity personally or we will forward the donations directly to the charities concerned approximately one month after the funeral service.

The use of GiftAid is an increasingly popular method of extending the value of donations given in memory by means of reclaiming tax relief available from the government. Please speak to us for further advice on how to activate this process prior to the funeral.

Printed Orders of Service - view our brochure

These act in two respects in and around a service, in a practical nature aiding attendees to follow and take part in proceedings and as a keepsake for friends and loved ones to hold for years to come. We offer a full bespoke design and print service from a simple traditional replica of a previous family leaflet to a multi-page, coloured order of service incorporating photographs and detachable pages. Alternatively we can act as printers for families wishing to create their own designs prior to distributing them at the service.

Our online brochure can provide you with some of the examples available but all designs can be tailored to individual request.

Floral Tributes - view our brochure

A funeral is a highly emotive experience, and we are aware that choosing the appropriate floral tribute can prove a difficult task. For this reason we are able to help you with your requirements in the comfort and privacy of our office or in your own home.

Using illustrations we are able offer all types of floral tributes', whether traditional or unique designs and have a large choice of cards on which to write your message which can be laminated to provide protection from the weather.

The flowers may be delivered to our funeral home or, if you prefer, to your own residence. Afterwards, we can, if requested, make arrangements for the flowers to be distributed locally, to bring comfort to others.

You may prefer to order your own floral tributes with a private florist, we quite understand this, we request that all flowers sent to our funeral home be individually marked with the name of the deceased and be delivered at least two hours before the funeral service.
